Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister from the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while taking classes at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic ability at the time. In only 10 weeks following the first time she tried, she was second in the 200 meter sprint in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for professional work with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. One year later Felix achieved her very first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking a junior world record by sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest World Champion in the 200m of all time at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 defeating her long-time Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She often finished in the top three of the events.
